Happy New Year! 2013

36 weeks and a Weekend Recap

Friday

Sonogram: Baby Boy is measuring 6lbs 4oz (which is perfect) and is looking great!
Doctor: I am still 1cm (booooo!) but if anything should happen (and hasn't so far) he is on call

Can you spot baby boy's squished face??

Saturday

Met up with my other pregnant friend Kirsten at Barnes and Nobles at 9:00am

Don't these look like the Penguin or Puffin classics that is all the rave?
Barnes and Nobles is selling them for $10.00 (which is cheap for these collector books)
Amazon sells them from $12.00 and up
I think I might buy 2 and start a collection for the kids

I checked out a new store called Libby Story and it had an Anthropologie feel to it. Even the prices were right along if not more expensive than Anthro. The style of clothing however was not me but the displays were really cool. Look at this yarn art!

I also checked out my beloved J Crew and low and behold a mannequin had my necklace on!
I checked the price and it was $45 ... Mine was $8 - Score!!
(Go back to picture of me drinking my latte and you'll see the same white necklace)

That evening Jordan and I relaxed to The Crackling Fireplace on Netflix
It was awesome.... we didn't have to worry about causing a fire , suffocation, or clean up.
And yes we have a fireplace to the left of the tree :0)

Sunday

It was FREEZING that morning (28 degrees) and Jordan helped set up Church.

After Church we napped and then I went back out shopping by myself

I bought 8 of these bowls from Anthropologie
(mine are lighter in color- but they don't show it on the website)
I am trying to change out our cheapie black dishes set that we bought when we first got married
(6 years ago) I loathe those black dishes!
I am on the hunt for some white everyday dishes to go with these bowls.

Latte Bowls

I returned a sequin top (that the hubs doesn't like) to The Loft and got these 2 items -both 50% off
(The dress is adorable in person- click on the link and you can zoom in on the dress)

Stripe Structured Cotton Knit TeeStripe Terry Knit Dress

I also bought this top from Ann Taylor the other day and forgot to tell you guys
(It was 50% off)

Alpine Stripe Camp Shirt

I also bought 2 chiffon dresses from Charming Charlie's but I will have to show you guys later since they don't sell stuff online.

My new camera should be here on Wednesday or Thursday yippee!!!

Raise your hand if you love having Christmas money!??!?!

Thursday Update and Scores

Baby Update

Well I seem to be doing pretty good today.
I had a great nights sleep and today I feel just really pregnant. Hah! It's like blizzard weather outside (without snow of course) so I would rather be in my plaid pj's sipping coffee curled on the couch.
Contractions are still coming on and off, but I don't think they are in any pattern.
Yay for my doctor appt and sonogram tomorrow! I am excited :0)

Kids

These two LOVE each other.... Yea there is always someone screaming over one of them taking a toy but I think they are two peas in a pod. So cute how they play with each other. Jordan and I are both only children so we have no idea what this is like. :0)

Ebay Scores

Do you remember I bought this necklace a couple weeks ago? Well it finally arrived and I must say I want more colors! haha! Oh and check out my earrings, they were a Christmas gift from my Mother-in-law. She was sneaky and bought these at the Premier Party she hosted right before Thanksgiving. Apparently a little birdie told her I was eyeing them :0)
They actually match my beloved Anniversary gift.

I also scored this J Crew Chambray shirt from Ebay for $30.00 (New w/tags)
*It is 78.00 on sale online- so I think I did good*

Selvedge chambray shirt

Oh and thanks to Christmas money I scored a new Sony A35 DSLR from Ebay
for $350- BOOYAH! Ok if you aren't aware of that price score then see what
Amazon prices it at here. Yea it's a $500-600 camera! I went back and forth offering prices to the seller and he finally agreed on $350. Sweetness! Now I just need Photoshop :0(

Back again ...

Last night I started contracting every 7.5 minutes around 10:00pm. They were strong enough to keep me awake and so I called the L&D hot line. They wanted me to come in :0( I was a little disappointed to hear I was still dilated to 1 cm, but I was definitely having "strong" contractions at 5 min apart (when I arrived). I am 35 1/2 weeks so I still considered pre-term. So they gave me a shot of Terbutaline and an IV. Within minutes my contractions eased and almost stopped. But then they started back up (not as intense) about 15 min after the shot. As the night went on and we waited on my IV to finish the contractions finally stopped. Around 6:00am we finally made it home and boy was it freezing outside!! We both went straight to bed and I slept until 10:00am (so I could go to work at 11:00am). Jordan went to work at 8:00am - he was able to sleep at the hospital - I however was not. Anyways I feel like I need something to prop my eyes open :0( I still have my doctor appt on Friday, so we will see what he says.

Best moment of the week: Our Christmas Miracle!

Boys room, Carseats and Miracles

Raise your hand if you love a good messy room photo?!?!

*Recap from Tuesday evening*

Here is the hubs putting together Brett's new bed! (Scored from CL)

Oh yea, you know you wanted to see more of the chaos!

If you haven't noticed already, this is a small room with a ton of furniture.

Below is the attempt to organize the chaos until my bins arrived for the shelves.
Hence why there is a collaboration of crap all in them shelves. ;0)

So here is what has happened Tuesday night:

Removed Black Dresser and brought in IKEA Chest from living room (for a changing table)
Removed Closet Door - placed IKEA Chest against that small piece of wall
Placed Crib where black dresser was

Brett's first night in a big boy bed! He loves it too!
(He only got out of bed twice- not bad)

TO DO:
Organize the bookshelves (bins arrived yesterday)
Organize room in general
did I mention Organize?
Get hubs to put stuff in attic
Move bassinet to my room

Oh and that night I finally starting fooling around with the car seat that was given to us, and guess what .... after some frustration and confusion with meddling with it I Googled it.
Ahem* It has been recalled.....wowzers. And I can go into labor at any point??!?
Sheer panic people... I was like "Jordan we have to get a car seat now!"
So with some tag teaming we found a car seat on Albee Baby

Graco Snug Ride 35 Infant Car Seat - Laguna Bay

Max weight = 35 lbs
Max height = 32 in

Excellent choice and on sale + free shipping!! Whoop whoop
It will be here next Thursday - Thank goodness!

I should have some Boy's room update pictures by next week :0)

Me Update:
I am doing better, still exhausted but I am able to get around.
Thankfully Jordan's aunt came over last night and helped with the kids
and my sweet friend Tiffany brought over some Beef stew  (extra Iron = awesomeness)

By the way God is so good.
We were so low in our bank acct yesterday morning and God just showed up and took care of us.
Miracles people.... miracles!

Don't doubt for a second that God doesn't hear you or see what is going on. He knows! And if you have the faith and speak the words, He will show up and keep his promise!!!

I hope you have finished your Christmas shopping - unlike me :0(
Looks like I will need some God given strength to finish it up tomorrow.

Have a great weekend!

Bump in the road

Around lunch time I started feeling really bad. Unable to walk and very weak... I immediately took a Procardia and drank a Coke (thinking it was my blood sugar too). An hour and a half later I felt worse. My cheeks were flushed, I could barely walk, i was super weak, felt like I could pass out, and weepy. I called my doctor and the nurse said to come on in to Labor and Delivery to be monitored. After some blood drawn I was ruled anemic (hemoglobin of 10) and I have low potassium. I can barely walk let alone keep my eyes open. Jordan had to leave his car at the hospital to drive me home.

I will be resting tomorrow :0(

Belly, Boys and Glitter

Belly Update

My doctor appt threw me for a loop yesterday.
Apparently I am already dilated to 1cm and the baby is "really really low". Now this might be good news if I was 36 weeks but I am still considered pre-term (34 weeks). So I was prescribed some Procardia pills (to calm contractions) and was told to do nothing. I am not on bed rest but the doctor specifically said to "finish any Christmas shopping I had this week then no more of anything else other than staying at home". I am still working however, and my next doctor appt is next Friday.
He wants me to try and make it to 37 weeks since I am carrying a boy.

On a normal pregnancy side note:
I woke up a little more swollen this morning and feel overall like blahh

Boy's Room

I picked up Brett's duvet and sheets from Target yesterday (while I was waiting on my RX)

Thanks to my sweet Mother-in-law  :0)
I finally bought 8 of these bins online yesterday to go in the boy's bookshelves
(I can't remember if I told you that there isn't any room for a dresser in there)
Thankfully I have the two 8 foot bookshelves I can take advantage of for storage.

Christmas Happy

I also made my little gifts for my friends last night,
there was a pile of glitter on my belly when I finished :0)

*they are filled with something yummy ... there is a hint in the left picture*

Today Mallie has a Christmas Program at 3pm

Can you believe that Christmas is a week from today!?!?

34 weeks, a Cantaloupe and a Weekend Recap

Whew what a weekend!
After the tragedy that happened on Friday in Newtown, I was holding my kids more tightly for sure.

We attempted some Christmas shopping on Saturday at the mall.... but the kids didn't last very long especially after they saw the indoor play area.  Daddy even got in on the fun :0)

Ok so this sums up what happens in the mornings when we are racing to go to work, church etc.
hahahaha!

Oh and I totally scored a twin bed from Craigslist for $100.... in the exact shape and style I needed!!
Booyah!

I also bought some necklaces from Ebay.
(I bought the white one .... and I might buy some other colors....
don't they look exactly like the JCrew ones?!

Sick Baby Girl

I am still tending to my sick little girl
Last night was aweful, she woke up crying for a tissue so I touched her skin and she was on fire literally.
Temp of 103.4 Whoa nelly!!!
She was shaking, could barely stand or talk. Thank the Lord I threw her in the bathtub (after a dose of Tylenol) ... a 2 minute sit in the bathtub lowered her temp 2 whole degrees.
(She was not happy to be in there, but she was a different child about 15 minutes afterward)
When in doubt throw them in a luke warm bath

So today we are once again having a movie marathon .... isn't that what everyone does anyway?

Midweek Tidbits

Well miss priss woke up this morning with a fever of 101.8, boooo!
So we have been watching movies all morning, we even passed out snuggled up together on the couch.

Anyway here are some random pics I had in my iPhone since Saturday

Saturday

Shopping trip to Target and a Birthday Party at a playground

Monday

The kids played dress up ... Mallie didn't even have to convince Brett to wear something....
he willingly put on the pink skirt hahaha

Tuesday

I stopped at Kroger for some lunch and spotted my baby a pineapple. I was like lets see how this compares to the baby in my belly.... let's just say no wonder I was in pain most of the day yesterday!

On a side note, I love this time of the year when Cliff bars come out with the seasonal flavors!
They are delicious!

She might be a star and have millions but seriously why these pants?!?!
Kanye has lost his mind if he thinks these look good
(even my husband was like granny pants)

Well back to Mallie's movie-a-thon I go....

Stay warm!
